Kriten---The word dementia has so many bad connotations...I'd want to rename the unit also. How about The Refuge or The Sanctuary? A positive name might even trick some employees into feeling happy to go to work and relatives not as anxious about visiting.

Kristen,
Thank you for choosing to serve the population you do.
"Our Precious Moments" is the first name that comes to mind. Just "Precious Moments " is trademarked already.
What are some of the names your co-workers have suggested?
The people at these message boards will likely come up with some wonderful suggestions. In my experience they are kind, honest, supportive people.

God bless you.

Confused
I am a social worker in Pennsylvania looking to make some great changes to our dementia unit. One particular thing that I would love to do is to rename our unit. I have set up an "idea box" for the staff and residents to participate with ideas, but we can't seem to come up with a name that we like. Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you so much!
