Its always up to the person leading the trial to decide who to let in. That one person can choose to allow for an exception or some flexibility in their metrics.
Ask for the things you want, how else can someone say yes to you?
I am not on top of all the clinical trials, please register with the Patients like Me or another clinical trials notifier to be kept in the loop on what you could take part in.
Quite a few new trials are Non-drug and Non-surgical.

Yes, I agree. My husband was just below the cutoff mmse score for his trial, and we lived 50 miles outside the range. But because of his exceptional health otherwise, and my commitment to making the 2x/mo trips to Georgetown for the first 6 mos, then 1x/mo thereafter, they accepted him.
