Our 14 year old daughter recently released this beautiful heartfelt song reflecting the impact Alzheimers/ Dementia Disease has on loved ones . Written by our neighbor, he was inspired by a friend who overheard a gentleman speak about visiting his wife in a Nursing Home. His final words " She may not know who I am , but I know who she is " transpired into this emotional touching song . This song went viral immediately after uploading to facebook and YouTube and we are honored that is has touched the hearts of many resulting in them connecting with us and sharing their stories. My husband and I are healthcare workers who work closely with those affected. I am a Nurse who had an eight year stent as the Unit Coordinator of an Alzheimers/Dementia Unit . My Husband is the Recreation Director of the same nursing home.
We hope that this song continues to have a great deal of meaning for many people and we continue to have stories shared with us.

Thank you Chrisp. I have to agree with you that the writer ( our neighbor) wrote a beautiful story . His lyrics are so powerful and realistic enabling us all to see and hear the story . As a nurse working closely with those affected, I have seen the reality of this story many times . While memories may fade , love always remains
Oh my goodness. That was so touching. A song to remember, there's a little irony in that thought I suppose.
Thank you for sharing. Beautiful, it will follow my heart to the nursing home. Beautiful daughter with talent. Good for her!
