We all know socks can imitate Harry Houdini and escape from the dryer. But the below, really irks me.
Daily I will take my shirts off of hangars in my closet, but a few days later when I return the clean shirts, Im always short hangars, how can that be?
My life must be way to easy to get irked by the above.
What irks you?

Mispronunciation of commonly used words. Prescription. Coupon. Terrorist. I know there are others, but these are all that will come to mind. Come to think of it, it irks me that I can't recall more of those words. Oh, Andy... I think your hangers are hanging in what used to be Barbara's craft room. Don't ask me how they got there, because I don't have a clue. And that irks me too.

Ruth - Been there, done that. However, we are mostly homebodies at night, and rarely go anywhere past 6pm.
Chris - I bet when you saw the topic of this thread, and who started it, you thought “uh oh, the old Andy is back and mad at someone”....I do read everything posted on this forum, but seldom comment, especially if it is in the least bit controversial. IM TRYING!

Ruth, I go to Walmart early in the morning like 6am to try to avoid crowds. That's when they are stocking the shelves so I run into many isles being blocked. If they are not blocked there are boxes for me to maneuver around.

ladyzetta, that for certain is the best time. But I've been picking Thursday nights while someone can be at home so I can do shopping....but I guess Thursday night isn't a good time.
There are so many people! And the Walmart I go to is currently being restructured inside and it's hard to find the items because everything is rearranged. ugh.
Next irk:
drivers who tailgate.

I avoid Walmart whenever possible if I can. I prefer Costco. If that's offensive, you can steal my coat hangers.
Andy, you haven't taken anyone's bait for quite a while, so no, I really wasn't expecting fire and brimstone, or a sermon, although I can do some of that if need be.

I try. With great success. To not let anything irk me. Instead.
I laugh at stuff. That used to irk me. I’m seeing the funny side of life these
days. And work it in. To my stand-up comic act. If I was starting life over. I’d
become a comedian. I’d still write. But mostly jokes. --Jim

I oftentimes forget my bags on those turnstile tables they pack the bags on. The Walmart cashiers did not remind me to take my bags on more than two occasions. The first time this happened when I went back to the store to retrieve my bag I was treated like a thief. I try to avoid physically going to Walmart like the plaque. If you spend more than $49 you can order most things online from Walmart. I either do that or spend a little more for the peace of mind in shopping at a smaller store.
I've been missing one of my favorite tank tops now for two weeks?

stores that have numerous 'self checkouts' than manned checkouts open...
and
when an employee comes up to you while in line at a manned checkout and tells you there are plenty of self checkouts open
my reply:
if I wanted to work for this store I would apply for a job...but if you want to keep pushing customers to the self checkouts you could lose your job...more customers using self checkouts means less employees needed.

When the lead car in the left turn lane refuses to go half way out in the intersection and wait for an opportunity to turn. Why do the majority of the drivers do this, and then not even turn on a yellow light, and instead, wait for the left turn green arrow?
Taking my granddaughter to a matinee to a mostly empty theater only to have a giant decide to sit directly in front of my GD, when there were entire rows empty.

Andrew...we have a theater here with reclining, assigned seats and really charge a lot. No option to change. How stupid is that!

One of our theaters is the same, and I hate having to pick out my seat in advance. But, I do like the extra seating space with the recliners.

Why do we drive cars on a “Parkway”, but park our cars in a “Driveway”?

Ugh...when some folks do careless things on the road and cause a 2 hour traffic jam on my way home!!!! It's excruciating. And I'm not the only one who starts to bang on the steering wheel yelping out in anguish and frustration after sitting there 1 freaken hour and only moving inches.
HAARRRR!

I confess, Ruth. I have done a careless thing or two while driving down the road, and I always wondered where that excruciating wail was coming from. Now I know. It was coming from your car !

Great thread!
I get irritated with people coming up to a four-way stop and just not knowing what to do. I also get irritated with people on their phones. I don’t want to hear your conversation, and I doubt that it’s that shattering that you can’t get off the phone to pay attention to the clerk who is asking you a question. Also when people say I know exactly how you feel. No you don’t. If you’ve gone through a similar experience, definitely there are probably many feelings that are similar. But no two situations are the same. That tends to go along with narcissism, which makes me wonder, if someone who has narcissistic tendencies sees a definition of narcissism, would they want to make it all about them? LOL

It appears we are all surrounded by “Irkers”....lol
My wife has Multiple Sclerosis and she learned early in the disease not to mention how she feels to others. Why? Her biggest symptom is extreme MS caused fatigue, where there are days that even after a good nights sleep, she is extremely fatigued, and mostly in bed. If she tells others how she is feeling when fatigued its always answered with “yes, I get tired easily too”. Irk, Irk....no, not the same. Its the samething for me when I tell others about my really poor short term memory...and they say...ready for it....”yes, I forget things too”......IRK! IRK. Not the same.
I do realize most folks responses are well intended, but still a real IRKER.
