Dear Friends, it has been a while since I have posted here. I do come and read from time to time and follow the posts. I have been asked to post information in regards to the Teen Respite Camp, Austin's Camp Building Bridges. The camp is set for June 2-8, 2013. There is about 20 teens signed up at this point, still room for more. I have noted that there are families here with teens grades 7-12 that do qualify for this program. It is a great relaxation & education opportunity for these young people to get away and meet others in their situation. If you have any questions and I can answer them please let me know. Feel free to contact your local Chapter in regards to possible travel assistance to and from the camp. There is also camp scholarships available, so you might check into that as well. This program was established so that no child is turned away due to financial needs. The camp website is:

The Tulsa Oklahoma Chapter is in charge of the camp process, so feel free to contact them and talk to LaShonda.

Tracy, I posted a link to this thread on one of the Spouse/Partner threads. If you get a chance, could you post about the camp on the Spouse/Partner board and the Caregiver board? Many of them have teens at home.

I'm doing as well as can be expected. I want to post an update but I have to plan out the words I want to use first.

Tracy it's so good to hear from you. Thanks for the update and reminder about your wonderful camp for teens. Does Austin ever participate in the camp now?
Since I have a teenage grandson, am interested in learning more. It's been a while since I visited the website, and I've forgotten the details. His schedule is pretty full for the summer. He will be working again this summer with other teens as a mentor. For that reason I wish the camp was located closer. (Florida).
Hoping you have a wonderful group this year and wish you much success.!!!!
