This might not be for everyone, but I found it so beautiful especially when considering caring for a loved one who needs us. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UEUxFNkISnU

Thanks for posting that! Since my hubby's AD he contantly wants my presence beside him. I need to be more affirming of that and less annoyed. Repy toSun Rises

I need to practice this. My Aunt told me that my loved one had rather have me sit beside him than a clean kitchen floor. That is a problem for me, I want a clean floor. I need to put first things first. Bobbie

Thanks very much for posting this. It is so simple yet so powerful. In Buddhism, there is a concept called "precious life" and these mantras help us remember that we need to have compassion for our loved one's precious life and for our own precious life. We only get to have one.
I have been practicing mindfulness and meditation for about four years. I believe that it saved my life during my husband's journey and eventual passing. You can give meditation a try by using a wonderful free app on your phone: Stop Breathe Think
We are so busy, so much going on, many thoughts bumping around in our minds. Taking time to meditate, even for 5 minutes, with a focus on our breathing, helps to calm us so that we make good decisions, sleep better, reduce our stress.
Hugs, Debra.
