I'm 49 - I won't get Social Security Survivors Benefits until I turn 60.
DH was in the Navy during the Vietnam Era. Therefore, I'll apply for Military Survivors Benefits. If I don't get it within 8 months, I'll be in trouble because my savings will be gone.

Good luck with the process. I know it is hard to find jobs right now. Are you using the services of a VA volunteer? Most towns have them.

I have an appointment at the county VA office Wednesday to fill out the application.
