Well I am going to give an anniversary lunch a try on Sunday.  Nice restaurant near the MC has said they will do what we need. I have a cute dress for her and her anniversary earrings.           even her nice eating apron.

Happy Anniversary! I hope it goes well. After the success of the birthday celebration, there is hope for success here too!

Happy 44th to you both Crushed! It's really great that you can do this for her! I wish I felt that I could go out with my DW for our 45th in 16 days! Instead I'm going to set up a candle lit dinner of BBQ'd Fillet Mignon, baked tater, nice mixed Italian salad, and a bottle of nice Merlot with Creme de Menthe Parfaits for desert! She always loved it when I did this for her!

After much confusion all went well.  The corsage person never showed at Harris Teeter but another employee manged to make  single Rose corsage compliments of HT.  Person answering phone at restaurant claimed they never took reservations for  Sunday. I said check with the manager and hung up.  I had a nice dress for DW and I put it on over her slacks and T shirt.  Went to Restaurant.  Manager had a lovey table for us and custom made lunch for DW all lovely. Nice couple at next table very encouraging.

Took DW to Baskin Robbins and got a huge chocolate shake.  Went back to MC and she drank the whole thing.  Put her rose in a cup in her room.  Stayed with her until she defocussed and walked away.

All in all as well as could be expected.

I'm home and feeling lonesome. Nice notes from kids. I fixed the glass door on the grandfather clock

So glad you were able to pull off the restaurant meal for your anniversary, even with a few glitches.

On our 50th anniversary, that big golden one, our three adult kids took me out for dinner leaving precious husband at home — he hasn’t been able to go to a restaurant in 4 to 5 years. It’s so bittersweet to celebrate without the other half of the celebration but I’m thankful for wonderful kids who are also my friends. He has no idea of the day or any significance of it.
