Dementia patients with dysphagia (difficulty in swallowing) have to drink thickened fluids, not regular fluids, to avoid aspiration.

In a previous thread on this forum, we discussed how CBD oil can help dementia patients. That thread is the following:

Would a dementia patient with dysphagia require thickened CBD oil?

Are there any CBD-oil products that consist of thickened CBD oil?

CBD oil is supposed to be thick, but I am not sure if it needs to be thickened further.

This is a great question! I am not a medical expert, but my understanding is that any substance that a person with dysphagia would consume should be thickened to prevent aspiration.

That's a great question! Unfortunately, there are no CBD oil products available that are thickened specifically for those with dysphagia. However, it is worth discussing with your physician or another healthcare provider to assess the potential risks and benefits of using CBD oil. In some cases, a doctor may recommend that a patient with dysphagia take a liquid form of CBD oil, such as a tincture, rather than trying to take a thicker form. Additionally, it is important to be aware of any potential drug interactions between the CBD oil and any other medications the patient may be taking. For more information, I would recommend looking at the products available from . They offer a variety of CBD oils with detailed descriptions of each product to help you make an informed decision.
