Is anyone familiar with this drug?  I was called to participate in a clinical trial regarding this drug, which is supposed to reduce or limit amyloid in the brain.  I have already had an Amyvid PET scan and was told that I don't have significant amyloid in my brain.

My diagnosis is cognitive impairment not otherwise specified, I am APOe4 positive, and I have been on Exelon patch and memantine for about thirteen years and I am essentially stable.  I would appreciate any information or knowledge.  I am not really interested in beginning an unknown medication.

Since you don't have significant amounts of amyloid in your brain, Iris, I don't think an anti-amyloid drug candidate, such as this, would do any good.

My Amyvid PET scan was in 2015 or 2016.  I gather that the idea is to repeat now in 2022 or early 2023 to see if there is any change.

I think this medication is something like Aduhelm, sort of a prophylaxis for MCI people.

I don't see how my participation would help me or anyone like me.  I know they look for participants to search for side effects.  My health is not stable enough to risk unnecessary side effects. I won't even use statins, although they are pushed on me at every cardiology visit.  Thanks for responding, Lane.

You are welcome, Iris.  I think that your reasoning is very sound.
