Any studies done on Niacinamide?

Have any studies been done using Niacinamide? My dad is looking for a cure for my mom's alz. and he's sent away for many newsletter on finding a cure for alz, as well as the cure for cancer, etc! First he was sure it was coconut oil, then vitamin C, and now it's Niacinamide. (He is ripe to fall for a scam!) This might not be the right forum for this inquiry but I do want to know if there is a thread of truth to his most recent claim. Thanks. (Don't worry, so far, my mom has refused to take any of his "cures".)

Niacinamide (which I think is the same as Nicotinamide) works great at restoring memory... in mice with Alzheimer's.

So there was optimism that it might also work on humans with Alzheimer's.

Right now they're doing a clinical trial on humans.

The human trial has been going on for some time now, but I don't think the results have been released yet.
