I mentioned it to my Mom's Neurologist before reading about all the issues with the trial and FDA issues and side effects.  She said they had a 8-10 patients on it and were really seeing some improvements / promising results.

She's on Memantine now.  Hard to tell if it is doing much of anything.

I was thinking of getting a second opinion but it being so new and divisive I think I'm going to hear either:

1. the approval process was so botched and with the side effects we aren't prescribing it
2. we are using it and it's going well
3. we are using it / tried it and didn't see any improvement

I guess they all give some insight but #3 is really the only one with new information and it seems like a longshot to hear that experience -- maybe not.

So anybody here have any personal experience?

My wife has been on Aduhelm since late September of 2021.  One of three locally that I know of.  She has just reached the full dose two weeks ago (infusion every 4 wks)  She was diagnosed 2 weeks after the approval.  Its a long shot, but promising.  There really is nothing else out there at the moment....   From what I've gathered and have been told, we may not see any change for 12 months.  We are committed (she just turned 52) and have a great medical support team now.

My father is on Aduhelm and despite everything we have seen/read to the contrary, he believes it is helping. He recently started Aricept and has shown noticeable improvements since then. He believes the improvements are due to the Aduhelm though. While I'm hopeful it is helping, I am not so sure. It has been quite awhile since these posts were made. I'm wondering how your experience with the treatment has gone?
