My DH's neurologist gave us information on a phase 2 clinical trial of T-817MA. After reading as much as I can about the phase 1 trial, my DH and I talked about participating in this study. For those that are much more learned than I, I'm asking for some opinion or input on this trial. I've attached some information on it. I appreciate any and all opinions. http://www.fiercepharmaasia.com/press-releases/phase-ii-clinical-trial-alzheimers-disease-drug-t-817ma-commenced-japan-com

T-817MA is an antioxidant and the right antioxidant or combination of antioxidants should provide an effective treatment for Alzheimer's disease.
You may have already read the following.

My feeling on this is right direction, but perhaps not quite the right drug.

My challenge with any clinical trial is that you have a 50/50 chance of getting a placebo and waste time you could be spending living......but if there is a chance you get the drug and it helps???? For me it is a toss up

For this phase 2 trial, 2/3 will get the drug and 1/3 will get a placebo so chances are greater he will get the drug.

Hi Dd197. Just saw your post that you will begin this clinical trial. My husband will begin a clinical trial T-817MA on August 25th (we just finished the screening process). I wonder what the difference is with our trial numbers yours is t-817TA and ours is T-817MA. Best wishes as you begin the trials. Lets hope that we are on the road to end AD now. Leslie

Loc3762, I just saw your post. I'll look up the trials online to see what the difference is and if I find anything, I'll post on this thread. We begin the screening process next week. Best wishes to your husband.

Leslie, I made an error when I typed the heading for the thread. The trial is T-817MA, as I did type in the text of the post. So they will be in the same trial. I'll try to edit this error if I'm able. Diane
