I got a question. I am noticing that I now go into these moments of blank thoughts or stares. I don't know anything. I try to think but I can't. I don't know who I am. I know nothing. It last maybe 2 or 3 minutes. I am grateful I get back to somewhat relevant life but this is not good. What if I can't get back. Very worrisome. The only way I know it happens is because I come back. Otherwise I wouldn't know what it was. This is really bad. My dementia may be getting worse.

Could Be ADHD. I am 18 and I have these periods of time where i will just stare into space and fall asleep with my eyes open if that makes any sense.

I wish it was ADHD. I think this is the beginning of my demntia getting worse. I hope not but I think it is. It is happening more often and is new. I am 47 so doubt ADHD at 47. The brain is a funny thing. Mine is not well. I lost my wallet yesterday and drove not good. There is something else that was important that I forgot. Hearing Aid forgot to put that in. I forgot to take my medicine. Not a good day.

"Mishland" an excellent name for it. I had it identified with an explanation and now I forgot it. Really good one to. This is driving me nuts.

Frustrated, are you on Aricept or Exelon patch? I use Exelon patch and Namenda and both have helped my memory and speech a great deal. I still forget, but to a lesser extent. I used to have blank spells, but I don't anymore.
It's important to have a routine that you follow every day. Having a routine and focusing on what I'm doing also help me.
It is important to get enough restorative sleep at night. I used to use a sleep aid but I just began to drop it Christmas Eve night. I'm doing okay without it.
It's also important to avoid stress, anxiety and negativity as much as you can. All of these will worsen your cognition.

Or you could have devloped an anxiety disorder following your diagnosis. I dont know if it is your dementia doing it if you KNOW when your doing it. I also have OCD and I used t have this horrible one about hurting people. I know it sounds horrible but people with ocd never act on their thoughts. Whenever i would have one of these thoughts, it would cause me to have a panic attack and everytime I tried to not think about it , I thought about it. The did this study at harvard a while back where they told people not to think of Polar bears, and what do you thnk they thought of? POLAR BEARS. Everytime you try to not space out, you will space out because you are thinking and when you are thinking you are staring into space.

Very fustrated: I know there is a huge age difference between you and me but when I was strggling with my panic attacks, my father told me what Winston Churchill said one time
NOTHING TO FEAR BUT FEAR ITSELF.
