I tried to post this once and lost it.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBTr9iQQuq4
The video is also done in 9 part extended version, not sure if the Steven is the same Steven that posts here.
If I get time to read through articles and find something I will copy paste it. The video seemed more scientific than my head is going to go today.

I am posting this NOT AS ADVICE but just for others impressions on seriously using what ALZ.org calls Best Practices.
the importance of sleep, how to get good sleep, diet, and exercise.
*********
The info below references Calvin Ezrin and his low carb diet and studies on Type 2 Diabetes / being overweight which is part of plan to reverse ALZ brain damage (what ever that may be).
http://www.lowcarb.ca/atkins-diet-and-low-carb-plans/insulin-control-diet.html
in video first post above, using this diet to "reverse Alzheimer's" and use of coconut oil and other supplements. Not Atkins.
from article:
"Dr. Ezrin’s plan is based on the metabolic control of insulin and serotonin. Reduction in carbohydrates takes priority but adequate protein and limited intake of fats is also important.
Serotonin is the most important neurotransmitter in the regulation of appetite and sleep. Carbohydrate, by stimulating insulin production, can boost serotonin levels, but only temporarily. Deficiency of serotonin causes carbohydrate cravings....
"...By the numbers: : Ketogenic, low carbohydrate, low calorie diet plus aerobic exercise. Stress reduces serotonin leading to the demand for more seretonin but less is produced because stress interferes with deep restorative sleep, essential to natural production. Reduced serotonin is the reason why weight is inevitably regained after weight loss on a traditional diet.
Method:
- During weight loss take a low dose (25 to 50 mgs) of the prescription drug Trazodone to ensure a good nights sleep and ensure serotonin levels are restored. (This is a much lower dose than is used for depression which is 400-600 mgs and so side affects do not occur.)
- Aerobic and strength training exercise are important. Build up gradually
- 1000 calories and 35-40 grams of carbohydrate per day during weight loss
- choose complex carbohydrates and avoid simple sugars
- Stay in ketosis-test daily
- Drink lots of water-at least 8 glasses per day
Typical menu: N/A
Emphasis: Insulin Control. Ketogenic, low carbohydrate, low calorie diet plus aerobic exercise. Stress reduces serotonin leading to the demand for more seretonin but less is produced because stress interferes with deep restorative sleep, essential to natural production. Reduced serotonin is the reason why weight is inevitably regained after weight loss on a traditional diet."

I have only watched the first video and unfortunately will not have a chance to view the other ones until later next week (I am almost certain that Steven is the same Steven who has contributed good information on these boards even though I have not seen that video or videos, yet).
The first video contains the critical finding for Alzheimer's disease: the decline in glutathione levels and the increase in oxidative stress is what causes and leads to the progression of Alzheimer's disease. Oxidative stress (from mercury, a high carbohydrate and sugar diet, physical or psychological stress, or from chronic bacterial and viral infections just to name a few) leads to the depletion of glutathione and the depletion of glutathione leads to the death of neurons in the brain.
http://atlasofscience.org/glutathione-a-molecular-whistleblower-for-alzheimers-disease/
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8940610
Oxidation and nitration also prevent the synthesis and release of neurotransmitters involved is short-term memory, sleep, mood, social recognition and alertness, inhibit the flow of blood and the transport of glucose in the brain which can lead to delusions, and prevent the regeneration of neurons in the hippocampus.
I just came to realize this recently: oxidation and nitration is what lead to the formation of amyloid (oligomers and then plaques) and tau tangles not the other way around. So as long as oxidants are being sufficiently removed, a person can have both amyloid and tangles in their brain and not have Alzheimer's disease.
The solution to low levels of glutathione seems simple just eat a diet high in glutathione or take glutathione supplements, but you apparently cannot get glutathione into cells. For most people, the only solution is to turn to external antioxidants to scavenge peroxynitrite (the primary oxidant in Alzheimer's disease) and to reverse part of the damage listed above. Medicinal marijuana contains three antioxidants/peroxynitrite scavengers: THC, cannabidiols, and terpenes (such as eugenol).
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/14578199
http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/jf050183e
Most of the damage done to the brain in Alzheimer's disease is caused by either oxidation (the loss of hydrogen atoms) or nitration and this damage can be partially reversed by plant compounds that donate hydrogen atoms. There is no doubt in my mind that Alzheimer's disease is a partially reversible disease.

Hi alz+,
Thank you for posting. I
am not Steven Fowkes who was the author of the article in the link or
the video. I am just one of those many ALZ patients who followed
some of the things which he and others have said to do. I can attest
that the coconut oil with its medium chain triglycerides helps the
brain since it turns into ketones which the brain can use for energy
in lieu of glucose. I believe I used about five or six of his ten
things in my own homeopathic and naturopathic treatment.
I will add you links into
my blog since it was very informative scientifically and I do not
have them yet. I do disagree with him in one respect. I think
removal of the amalgams should be done as soon as possible as long as
it is done by an IAOMT certified dentist as soon as the kidney, liver
and lymph systems can handle some of the excess mercury that will be
encountered post removal. I think he fears, probably correctly, that
people will go to a regular dentist who will cause more harm that
good because they won't protect the patient from the drilled out
mercury.

Hi Lane,
There are dietary
supplements that you can take to increase your glutathione level as
Steven Fowkes indicated. I think I listed a link that said how to do
that in my
July 4, 2015 blog entry at http://thestevenalztreatment.blogspot.com
I am taking liposomal
glutathione which is expensive but won't get digested in a way that
will render it useless. But taking acetyl-l carnatine, carnitine,
N-Acetyl-L Cysteine, and alpha lipoic acid will also support your
bodies ability to manufacture its own glutathione and increasing
total glutathione in the body.

Thanks, Steven for all the useful information on the supplements. I saw the first video and it seemed to echo many of the things that you were saying and I jumped to the conclusion that it was you. I am looking forward to watching the rest of the videos--seems like a lot to learn and you have utilized and expanded upon much of it with positive effects.
