I saw a video of an elderly man with dementia sitting in a chair in his usual silent contemplation.

The family dog walks up to him and he immediately begins to converse with the dog.

The things he says might not "make sense" to the loving person who videotaped it, but if I wrote them down as poetry they are totally inspired.

Oh yeah! hey.

you've got something, you've got something, huh?

well that's too bad there.

that's all, that's all I've got.

Why don't I take care?

I'll take you

and you'll take me.
