Has anyone tried or is using CBD?  I am curious about how it worked and how it was given (eaten liquid?)

Hi Texas!

I am using it and quite a few others but they keep it private.

There are lots of posts by me you can search on my use of CBD oil.

A couple things:

what I take is made in my legal state by a group of cannabis farmers. The oil without THC (famous since children with seizure disorders are saved by this with no side effects) is what I originally took. It is thick, dark brown and we measure a dose by a drop the size of a grain of rice.

My first dose about 2 years ago? Not sure. I could not really dress myself in less than 30 minutes, could not figure out spacial things or do any math. Within minutes my voice was normal and found myself making calculations regarding flooring for our little house.

I do not feel buzzed or altered but feel normal. It wears off and my doctor said I should take 3 grains size now 3 times a day.

****

The cbd oil which comes from the whole plants and includes THC is the oil people take for cancer, also know as RSO (Rick Simpson Oil).

I tried to do an experiment with it to see if I could reverse the damage or conditions that generate Alzheimer's. I used the THC CBD at night in order to build up a tolerance. My experiment fell apart. My illness has progressed.

******

How to take the oil:

there is hemp cbd oil sold on internet but I do not think it is the same as what I am taking. If Colorado dispensaries can sell the Charlotte's Web oil I would buy that from a dispensary. It takes a huge amount of cannabis leaves and buds to make a tube of oil and making your own is not easy to do right.

I take the cbd morning in a gob of coconut oil because the oil tastes so bad and sticks to the inside of my mouth.

Other ways of taking it:

sublingual (instant absorption)

in carrier like coconut oil (works within 5 - 10 minutes)

******

My husband and I visited our local cbd expert and I got supplies to try the THC oil again. Because of Alzheimer's I am altered all the time and do not want to be dizzy, foggy or intoxicated, which happens intensely when a person begins the oil. However the body changes in its response over a week or 2 until it has ZERO intoxicating effect.

research has found using a suppository (coconut oil mixed with THC CBD in capsules) eliminates the intoxicated feeling. The research into how the plant becomes different medicines depending on the manner in which it is taken is still developing. The curative properties remain = to the oral ingestion methods in the suppository method.

Again, if you are using the non thc oil you can take it by rubbing on your guns or swallow in a medium.

*****

I am no expert and not giving medical advice. If you want to try it the best bet is a good dispensary.

*****

It gives me back most of my function. Videos on youtube and on web show people with dementia taking the oil and the person's abilities returning within minutes. There is still some sort of stigma, fear or shame about it apparently. The "too good to be true" element.

I love this oil and read other people's experiences with it online.

Good luck! again there are many people using it, only a couple people here admit to it.

My DH has been using 20:1 CBD oil for the past few months. He takes 2 sprays in the AM and 3 sprays in the PM.

Prior to the CBD he was disconnected all the time. He had a short attention spand and was no longer able to follow any kind of plot on TV. He  lost interest in reading emails and reading on the internet. He was very apathetic, and disinterested in life in general.

The changes I have noticed since starting the CBD is that he is able to be more connected in the moment. He is more aware and observant. He is not as flat in affect and seems to experience more joy.  He is much less depressed and more engaged in life. He is better able to access his emotions. He has gone back to reading daily on the internet rather than just staring at TV all day. He seems better able to follow a daily schedule.

On the flip side, all this new awareness has caused him some frustration. . He asks a lot of questions. Often he cannot comprehend the answer or explanation. He experienced some language processing issues prior to starting the CBD but now it seems more apparent. I don't necessarily think he is more confused but he is more motivated and determined to get answers to his questions.

Watch a person before and after taking the oil.

Cheyanne - I don't know what the spray is you are using, but CBD oil is the form of cannabis that works on all inflammatory conditions.

If he benefits from the spray and you have access to a dispensary it might be worth it to try the CBD oil with very low THC, what is given to children with seizures/autism. No intoxicating elements, seems to act as fuel. If there was any chance it might help, why not try?

Alz+, does the non THC CBD Oil work? I tried it and didn't notice any change. Does it take time to get into your system or is it immediate?

This is a link to an extended 25-minute video that there was a very short clip from at the end of the video that Alz+ posted above. I believe the person who made this video has posted on these forums in the past, I believe his name is Joel.

edit: the link above displays with a weird emoji face but it does work correctly to get to the youtube video

The CBD spray my DH is using comes from http://www.statewidecollective.org/

They have many different CBD:THC ratios.  You must have a MM card to become a member.

the oil without THC in it does work for me but it is not the oil used for curing things, that one has THC in it.

The oil I take is known as Rick Simpson Oil  (RSO). It is very thick, very dark. So is the CBD oil without THC (the one for seizures in children). They both taste bad.

I am part of many discussions off this board on using the oil for ALZ and the people are using this thick, dark, oil made from the whole cannabis plant.

It is so powerful we are talking a dose size that equals the size of 1 grain of rice. It does not make me feel different in anyway, but I find myself doing things again and speaking normally. As it wears off the garbled words come back and I forget more than ever. I forgot yesterday, can remember Sunday but not Monday. Keeper said it was boring.

I have seen hemp oil sold on internet and that is not the same power or sort as what I get, it looks like liquid and clear online.  ???

One way to know if it works (if not obvious) is to do something you can't usually. We were stressed over our home insurance company giving us the runaround about water damage  2+ years ago. I could not understand what they were saying, I could not make sense of the money we had spent and what they paid for. After taking the oil I found myself upstairs calculating everything! Easily.

I would stare at underpants to figure out front or back for a long time, just a mess with everything. My short term memory is definitely changing and yet I am more capable than 3 - 4 years ago when on oil.

We got the fresh batch and I am taking the THC CBD oil at night and have not had the vertigo or unpleasant effects I feared. By summer I will be on that am and pm in hopes it can reverse some of whatever it is that is happening.

Need to walk dog - will check in later.

Holy cow! Alz+ you are doing tremendously well!! GREAT JOB!

I agree 100% with the direction you are headed. Full strength indica cannabis THC/CBD oil in a dispensing unit like a syringe. Dose amount is so important (especially at first,) starting small and working up is the way to go. Cannabis is excellent medicine, but if we use too much it can make the very symptoms we are trying to beat, much worse. It can help us sleep perfectly, but if you use too much, you wont sleep. It will cure depression and anxiety, but if you use too much it will make it worse. I found more than 3 full doses per day messes up sleep. Sativa cannabis can create more anxiety, energy, and insomnia. I learned all this through my own use in the past. THC can cause overdose symptoms beyond sleeping. It can cause a hard fast heartbeat and paranoia. You can vomit from too much. People go to the hospital in paranoia every day for THC overdose. Fortunately they all walk back out.

The video of my Mom was made while she was on dronabinol (synthetic THC). The real THC obviously does the same thing. God's version is stronger and includes many more healing properties.

I am so glad people are using this and having success. It has helped my Mom so much I cant even explain it. The ultimate medicine if used at the correct dose. 1 medicine fixed my Mom's chronic back pain, high blood pressure, confusion from Alzheimer's.

Joel

CBD oil looks like this when whole plant is sourced, called the "entourage effect" as cannabis has hundreds of components that work synergisticly.

article: https://www.projectcbd.org/article/cbd-users-manual

"What is the right CBD:THC ratio for me?

Cannabis therapeutics is personalized medicine. There is no single ratio or strain or product that’s right for everyone. Optimize your therapeutic use of cannabis by finding the proper combination of CBD and THC that works best for you. A person’s sensitivity to THC is a key factor in determining the appropriate ratio and dosage of CBD-rich medicine. Many people enjoy the cannabis high and can consume reasonable amounts of any cannabis product without feeling too high or dysphoric. Others find THC unpleasant. CBD can lessen or neutralize the intoxicating effects of THC. So a greater ratio of CBD-to- THC means less of a high. In some states with medical marijuana laws, cannabis oil concentrates and other products with varying ratios of CBD:THC are available so users can adjust or minimize psychoactive effects to suit their needs and sensitivities. Those who don’t like THC have the option of healing without the high by using a CBD-rich remedy with only a small amount of THC. But a low THC remedy, while not intoxicating, is not always the most effective treatment option. In essence, the goal is to administer consistent, measurable doses of a CBD-rich remedy that includes as much THC as a person is comfortable with."

Paranoia as side effect of cannabis:

set and setting vital when starting use of cbd oil with high THC.

CBD oil with the low indica THC is used for children with autism and seizures, there is little noticable effect of the oil - no hallucinations, no wild thoughts, no problems.

THC is thought to be the most medicinal single part of the plant and an initial dose can be very hard to tolerate. The intoxicating symptoms of initial dose can be vertigo, head swimming, intense colors, and so on. If a person is wrapped up in fear of illegality then paranoia is worse.

So to prevent that, one starts with an incredibly tiny dose, and over 4 weeks builds up to a normal first dose size, a grain of rice size.

One month after getting used to it there should be zero intoxicating  effects. In other words, feeling intoxicated does not happen anymore once the endo-cannabinoid system is working.

https://www.zamnesia.com/content/361-the-difference-between-cbd-oil-and-rick-simpson-oil

The different between hemp oil that are light colored and more or less a supplement and CBD oil (aka Rick Simpson Oil or RSO)

how the CBD oil and the Rick Simpson oil are very different products. Since they are coming from different strains (hemp and cannabis), they naturally contain different amounts of cannabinoids. The Rick Simpson oil is a full spectrum plant extract of potent cannabis. It therefore contains very high levels of THC and other cannabinoids; easily in the range of 50-60% THC and 10-15% CBD, depending on the strain that was used. In addition to high levels of THC and CBD, other cannabinoids such as CBN and CBG are also present in concentrated amounts.

The CBD oil, on the other hand, contains high levels of CBD, but only very, very small trace amounts of other cannabinoids such as THC or CBN. Our CBD oil contains 4% CBD, and only 0.173% THC. As research has shown, THC shows promising potential for many conditions, which is why this psychoactive cannabinoid is an important part in any cannabis based approach.

Consuming simply a larger amount of the CBD oil is both expensive and a digestive challenge, since it is olive oil based. But even then it would not match the wide range of cannabinoids that are present in a full spectrum extract such as the Rick Simpson oil.

It has to be made absolutely clear that under no circumstances is the CBD oil any replacement for the Rick Simpson oil. It is a different product that cannot possibly replace the full spectrum Rick Simpson oil.

I use a tincture once in the morning and once at night.. The tincture is put in a dropper and I fill it up with the glycerin infused tincture.. It works well for me and has for two years.. I made the tincture myself out of marijuana I grew last growing season.. I am in a legal state for both  medical and recreational use of marijuana so I am very lucky in that respect.. I found a plant that is called Franks Gift ( this strain was developed for a man who had cancer and he used marijuana for his problems with the chemo ), franks gift is almost a 1to1 ratio of THC and CBD...

So I updated info today for those who still have questions. I am not a medical person, I  am not selling the oil, I just want people to know this is available and it works.

If you are taking a hemp oil extract and not getting results it is because this is not the correct oil.

My doctor recommended I try the RSO oil (has THC) and I am doing it. The protocol for people with life threatening conditions is 5 times a day (which I am not up to yet, I am at 3 times with the biggest dose at night so I sleep) for 3 months.

Taking it under the tongue apparently gives you the full benefit as it changes in stomach acid, or as I had been doing, taking it in a gob of coconut oil (delays and stunts some effects). so as much as I dislike the taste I am putting it under my tongue and letting it melt, working up to 5 times a day and then doing it for 3 months in hope of killing off whatever is causing the brain malfunctions.

*****

I understand people wanting me to reply in emails or off the board to questions about using CBD oil, but all I know is really on this page, and a dispensary is easiest bet.

There is no question it works, so if your oil is doing nothing it is not cannabis based CBD oil. No one has died from it as far as I know. Not once.

courage!

I learned about how CBD oil works for Parkinson's from a FB page of a former police officer. He had video of his first try at using cannabis, which he inhaled through a vaporizer. Ride With Larry is name of his FB page.

this is how it looks when inhaling cannabis, watch the immediate the effects are and how profoundly the elements in cannabis balance his  system.
