So happy everything went so well Julie. Now all you have to do is take it easy and let yourself recover. Piece of cake!

Yes now it is the hard part.. I usually walk a mile a day and go and hang out with my friends here.. but there will be none of that for a while.

I'm glad your surgery went well, Julie, and that you did well with the spinal anesthesia. I hope you are comfortable. Are you able to sit? I hope the doughnut helps. Rest up and get well soon!

Iris, yes the doughnut works well if I sit on it right.. LOL! Some times my landing on it is a bit off.. Thank you yes it went well and I was glad they did not put me out all the way.. That was what I was most dreading..My boyfriend pointed out to me a couple of times how people were starring at me because I was in my jammies in the late afternoon and I had this strange thing hanging off my shoulder with tubes coming from it.. That was before the blood and other fluids were draining from the wound.. Good lord is this what I have to look forward to when I go out?

From the surgery.. I had some anesthesia given to me so that I would be nice and relaxed and not feel the shots given to my lower back and I now have more short term memory loss. I told the nurses about the MCI but forgot to tell the anatheisiologist about it.. Does anyone know if this kind of thing will pass or get better on it's own? I am just afraid that now I will have to deal with this on top of everything else.. Thanks.

I am allergic to Oxicodone I have a rash and I was laying down and trying to sleep when I found that I would stop breathing and I would wake up.. I am going to stick to taking ibuprophen.. another drug I am allergic to..

Julie, I think you should call the surgeon or the doctor who is on call and discuss your pain medication options. You should not take a drug that you are allergic to.

Iris, I am sorry I said that ibuprophin is another drug I am allergic to.. That is not at all what I meant to say.. I do not remember what I was trying to say but that was not it.. I may go ahead and stay off of here for a bit so that I do not cause any problems for myself or others..

They had to set up an emergency wound dressing change for me today because my insurance is so bad that they take 14 to 24 days to make a decision on if I can go to them to have them change my bandages and such.. Why this was not set up before I had surgery is beyond me.. If they did not have the ok for the bandage changes they should have waited on the surgery.. At least that is my thoughts on it.
