I love living in Italy. Especially with my Italian amore, Cristina. But just as important. It’s a way for me to get to know Italians. And their ways. When I’m there, I’m sort of an immigrant. I become more Italian every day. I even start to learn the language. Albeit, too slowly. If I were a younger man, I could see uprooting myself some day. And becoming an Italian citizen. Really, it would be ideal. To hold dual citizenship. Being an American and an Italian. All at the same time. Better yet, I dream of becoming a citizen of the world. Able to blend into many, many cultures. I have the ability and desire to learn and to accept others. And what’s so nice. In Italy. I feel thoroughly and completely accepted.  As if I’m at home. --Jim

Hi Jim, glad to see you back I missed your post.

You are not to old to make your dreams come true. Your as old as you feel and I don't think you feel old. I am 72 and I would move to Italy if I had a reason and a chance to do it. Be Happy. Zetta

Nice to see you back here, Jim. I was hoping that you wouldn't truly be able to stay away. In case it makes a difference, you can place my vote on the side with all the people who don't get offended or bent out of shape when your less than mainstream side comes out, which, as I think about it now, is just about every time you open your keyboard to speak. Welcome back to the basement .

It's been pretty quiet down here since you've been gone. All of that fussing people made and they haven't been back. Welcome back.

Cristina arrives on Friday. For a six-week stay with me. Here in Minnesota. As always. Life is good. I am flying the Italian and the Sardinian flags. I'd like to hire a mandolin quartet to greet her at the airport. Best I can do. Is greet her in Italian. --Jim

I spent 10 days driving around Italy from Rome to Milan and back again and loved every minute of it. Spent a lot of money and worth every dime. I'm sure you'll have a great time with Christina. And dreaming of moving there yourself reminds me of "under the Tuscan sun". Who wouldn't love moving to Italy? Only people who have never been there in the first place.

I don't normally post on "musings". But today I fell in love. Do you think he likes mid 50's old ladies? Watch the video. I LOVE the house, kitsch as it may be, it's beautiful.

Found out he's Spanish or Portuguese. Doesn't matter, he's still a heartbreaker. Did you know the meditterranean diet is one of the best ways to stave off Alzheimer's?

I'd have to move to sweaty Miami....

wait, did somebody say sweaty? Like in man sweat?

Ok, I'm going to quit while I'm ahead Ruth. He's probably the type that gives you heaven for a year and then you are running away screaming about hell in year two....

jfkoc, If I was you I would visit often those relatives in the winter, depending on where you are. Why would they call a place in Florida winter park?

Speaking of expresso, I used to not be a coffee drinker, but for the last few months I catch myself dozing off in traffic and on my way home after work,...it's horrible.  So noon time is my time for some black hard coffee and I'm happily wired..maybe I seem a bit too wired for some, but....I'm finding myself craving coffee now.

Reading this gave me that urge for coffee, unfortunately I don't have any here at home.

Awesome Jim!  Forever Young.....I think there's a song called that (not Rod Stewart).

I like this song.  Into the Cosmos our spirit lives on and on!

Joan Baez did a most excellent cover of Forever Young - back in the day, you know.

As long as it's not Rod Stewart and his version.  Whenever that song comes out, I change stations.

I think Bob Dylan wrote it, Eric Clapton's got a good cover of it.

Ruth, I just clicked on the link you posted, and I think it's a totally different song than the Rod Stewart/Eric Clapton/Joan Baez/Bob Dylan version I know.  I've never heard this song before.  That's pretty amazing to me since it has almost 250 million hits!
