Its going to take me a bit to get use to all this. Is the connections choice to be with someone who is very similar to your own situation? I like that feature but I also like talking with everyone. Love that we can see pictures of forum friends we have been talking to for so long. I (luckily) have no photos of myself. ha!

Dear Cowboys,

Glad to see you've made it here.  Yes, it's a bit confusing at first but there are also many other features.

It just takes a little time and energy.  Take all the time you need.  Look at the words at the top of the page.  Click on each one starting with "you."

You will become familiar with things as you use them more.

Thanks for coming.

How are things?

Peace and Hope,

Lisa

Cowboys

Welcome. Glad you made it over. I have had gobs of trouble learning the new navigations. But stay with us. I understand the old Board will soon be terminated and this Board, ALZConnected will take over as the only Board.

But sweets, the old members will come over and we can help, aid, and crack a few jokes.Click on Attachments line below. Meet my Cousin. He plays in a band.

 Hi Cowboys,

I just made it over here myself.  I hope the switch-over to this board is seamless.

It is good so many people are opting to use their previous screen name.  We can more easily recognize one another that way.

Hi all, I just made it here also. I know change is good but darn, it takes so long to learn new things these days! LOL

ROFL. Glad to see you. Yep, it's different. But before long, we'll wonder why the idea of change made us anxious.

Change. You'd think we would be so used to it that we wouldn't bat an eye.....

Yay - I made it here AND I figured out how to upload a profile picture. I tried to pick a cheerful one instead of a personal photo.

I hope to see all the posters who have helped me SO much! This is a great group of people.

Cheers!

How did you do that? I have Smileycons but they don't seem to work here.

Son of a gun. I did the keyboard strokes and there the little guy is! Cool!

Zolly ... enjoyed your friend from the band!  Kinda a nut, doncha think?

This may sound trivial and silly, but I miss the fact that our dates that we first signed up will all disappear ... I found myself looking at those often ... now we all look like we are brand new ...

I also don't like that the list of topics does not show WHO made the most recent comment .... I always look for familiar names ... (

Still struggling to figure out how to upload a pic, too ... feellike a cry baby ... wah wah wah

Anybody know how to make a signature line like we used to have?

.... Betty

I agree with you EarChat, about the disappearance of the date when someone signed up -- that was significant information and we could´ve easily provided that.   Whereas the "date of diagnosis" that they asked for...not so much.  I don´t understand the point of that at all.

I also don´t like that when you reply the screen doesn´t open up over the thread so that you can go up or down and re-read what you´re responding to.  You can scroll but it doesn´t scroll up and down behind the reply screen.

AND that it doesn´t show who replied most recently!   That was a way to know if you´d missed something.  The only way to know now is to remember how many postings there were the last time you checked, or which posting was at the top.  I´m going to go to the comments forum with this and see if anyone else has posted about this because the more of us come over here, the more annoying this change is going to be...

I had to re-register completely because my old password wasn't my email addy (as near as I can figure).  I also had to change to a longer password that included at least 1 number, on the recommendation of another user. I think I'm in now.

Sheryl, as far as I know, everyone needs to re-register and come up with a new password. But we can keep our screen names. The new password requirements are pretty standard in today's world of internet security.

Welcome aboard. Yep. You're in now!

Can keep same password as long as it meets criteria.

I just made it over here too. I tried out the new chat room. For my taste its too busy. I like it simple and elegant. But its better than nothing.

Now I will have to learn how to navigate the new place. Good thing I don't have to paint anything.

"Change is our friend."  Didn't you know?  That's what the young guys at work used to tell me.  Of course, they were always trying to change my way of doing things, not theirs.

I made it, too....I was (and still am) apprehensive, but this (the old) board has helped me so much, and knowing I'm not all alone, but sharing a similar journey with all of you has helped to keep my sanity on more than one occasion!

Not the greatest help. But if you click on the small oval purple dot under the date on the right the last post in a thread comes up first.

As a test I have left the Board 5 times and came back. Each time I had to sign in. And yes, I also checked "Remember me". What a revolting development.
