Dr. Oz had a very informative end of life discussion on his show today. His major guest was Montel Williams.  He also presented palliative care and other health care professionals and severely disabled patients.

The question was, should very ill and terminal patients have the right to end their own lives?  There was cogent argument on each viewpoint.

There was discussion that this topic should be brought up with the attending doctor and family before reaching the end of life period.

Dr. Oz offered sample health care proxy/living will documents for download from his website.

I am not promoting any particular viewpoint.  The main point was to get your documents prepared and have your discussion about end of life ahead of time.

Here is the link for the Dr. Oz show:

Look for "The Right to Die" show with Montel Williams.

Thanks Iris. Too often the conversation only concerns the person who is ill. We all need to have our ducks in a row.
