I might be mistaken but I seem to recall that Iris said she would be using her phone not her computer for awhile so she'd not post as frequently.

Maybe she'll respond to this.

She posted Saturday that she was on the ships computer "with a real keyboard" so maybe...

Hi Jfkoc and everyone!  I'm off the coast of Baja California, heading for Puerto Vallarta.  We have two days at sea.  Sea is calm, with clear blue skies.  The weather is a bit chillier than I expected, though.  I'm sorry, I did not see this thread earlier.  I've been doing ship activities.  I went on an excursion in Santa Barbara which consisted of picking tangerines for a local food bank.  In Ensenada I just shopped for a couple of souvenirs, because I had already seen Bufadora, the blowhole, on an earlier trip.

Last night I danced!  The ship offers hosts to dance with the single ladies.  Very nice!

Tonight we will view a meteor shower and perhaps get sight of the Space Station as it passes overhead.

The cuisine is overwhelming!  Delicious and too much!  I have had to cut out lunch because I'm getting too full.  There are also cooking demonstrations of Mexican dishes.

I'm getting ready for a class at the Fitness Center.  So long for now!

I didn't see the Space Station last night, perhaps tonight.  But I did see many shooting stars, and I saw Mars for the first time!  The Milky Way is very bright!  There is a woman astronaut (Rhea Sneddon) on board and she gave a wonderful talk about being in the Space Station and her entire career.  The trip is very enlightening.

Of course there is so much food.  This afternoon there was a Gala Buffet, with the traditional carved fruits and carved ice sculptures.  There was a  tower of lobsters, more than I have ever seen together at one time.  Lots and lots of food!

Wi-fi reception is spotty out here on the ocean.  We have two sea days between ports.  I will be returning home tomorrow.  Then I'll be back to using my smartphone.  So long for now.

I finally did see the Space Station.  It tracked across the night sky for about 3 minutes.  It looked like a bright spaceship.

I'm home now.  I aleady miss being well cared for on the ship.  Back to reality.

Why I love cruising:

* everyone is nice to me

* the staff and crew take good care of me

* nobody puts pressure on me

* all I have to do is show up for activities

Cruising is so comfortable.  The hardest part is the planning and the packing due to difficulty with executive functions.

My next trip will be to France, in the spring.  Not a cruise, but a regular land tour.  Normandy and Paris.

The solution is that other people who are reliable and knowledgeable are making arrangements for me.  This takes a great burden off my mind.
