I just saw on CNN a story of how a Cancer drug that was given to mice improved their memory within 72 hrs.  I know that you never know, but wow!  I know other medicine that worked on mice concerning alzheimer's did not work on humans.  Interesting story though.

Dear Frustrated,

So far, things that have worked in mice have NOT worked in humans.

Thanks for sharing.

Perhaps they can find cancer patients who are taking the drug who also have AD, or suspect they have AD, or have a gene that causes AD and conduct a study on them!

A friend of mine's opinion:  Given that it's already attained 'orphan' drug status for Cancer, they'll probably be able to get a phase 3 human trial up & running pretty quick. Here's hoping for one example where the mouse/human model holds up !
