Confusion of where she 8s..even though in own home

Mom's dementia ratcheted up tonight..shook me!

She lives with aides in her own home..but this evening says no she is not in her own home..MASSIVE LICATION CONFUSION. 

Any thoughts..or similar experiences?

Any abrupt behavior change is very suspect of an UTI. It does not matter if she is not showing any of the symptoms we think of with a UTI.

Please get her tested with the follow up culture asap. A UTI can be very dangerous and is so easily treated.

Please let us know.

Yes, first thing first, as jfkoc mentioned.  Have her checked immediately for any infections.  ER visit. 

Let us know what happens.

My guess is that your mother may have a urinary tract infection (UTI), be dehydrated, or sundowning.  If you have not taken her there…A trip to the emergency room is warranted.  They will give her IV fluids and test for the UTI. 

Not much that they can do for sundowning.   Suggest that you do some reading on that subject.
