A cold. A simple cold. Sneezing. A runny nose. That’s all it takes. To throw me off stride. To ruin my day. I crave. To always feel. In tip-top shape. My internal engine. Running in perfect rhythm.  Yes, I have a nasty cold. No valid reason to complain. But still I do. Reminds me of the fast-approaching future. Growing old. The thought. That there’s far worse than a mere cold to come. To my physical and mental being. Think of it. I dread ever feeling miserable and wretched.  Dread diminishes my life in the now. Anticipation.  Imagining worst case scenarios. The primary source of anxiety. Getting ahead of one’s self.  Living a phase of life. Before it happens. I suspect. We all do it. To some degree.  But maybe I do it. More than others. I know precisely what I must do. Yes. Yes. Less than others. --Jim

Jim...I can picture you with a dripping, red nose as you type those words above.  Crumpled tissues all around your computer.

I usually get a bunch of ground ginger and mix with hot water and drink, drink, drink all day, and night whenever I get up.  It cuts the cold out quick.

Caution: Ginger can interact with medications that slow blood clotting and medications that lower blood sugar.

Outstanding, Ruth ! If it weren't for the fact that I take medications to control my blood sugar, and that Barbara is on blood thinners for her heart, I would absolutely try your remedy. Oh...and except for the other fact, which is that I can't stand ginger. If Barbara likes it, I am unaware, and she probably wouldn't know anymore.

I'm trying to do a ghost post, and it's not working for me....

I can't do it either Ruth. Personally, I'd ask Marcello how to do it. He seems like a nerdy, wordy kind of cat. In fact, now that I think of it, he could probably do away with Jim, just let the SS deposits keep on rolling in, and order his cat food online. Oh . Wait. A. Minute. I. Wonder. If. This. Is. How. A. Cat. Might. Type.

My ghost post was a cartoon that showed up when I first posted it. The text said, “Whem women go through labor, the pain is so great, they can almost imagine how it feels to be a man with a cold.”
