I believe that 1 person has 3 accounts, but that's just my opinion, and you know what they say about opinions. lol

This is a funny discussion under the 'the crime of manipulation' topic.  Isn't it?

Strange thing. Happening the past couple of days. My threads were being shifted about. Out of their usual order. Most recent threads moved down. Older threads moved up. I tried to restore order. But it was a haphazard effort. I’m not a computer technical whiz. Gave up on the effort. I’ll contact the monitors in the morning. To see if they can tell me what’s going on. Are any of you having similar problem? Or is someone just messing with me? It is a little scary. Because I have been under a bit of personal attack this past week. One of the new members. Just joined  Feb. 15. Seems to have taken a quick and unusual and avid interest in me. And has delved into my posts all the way back to 2012.- Kind of odd for a newcomer to take to me In particular.  As if she/he came here for a sole purpose. Am I too suspicious? Comes at the same time as the thread-ranking disruption. Coincidence? --Jim

That's quite possible. I'm a natural born ruffler. Sometimes the ruffled respond in strange ways. As long as it ain't violent. I'm all right with it. --Jim

Ruth Mendez---Yes...This is an unusual thread.  One thing nice about Musings is that you never know what you will read here.  Stop back more often and even start a thread or 2 of your own.

MissHer---I miss him...Charlie (my significant other)passed several years back.  Don't know if you think that I am one of the posters you suspect is using multiple screen names...but...I can assure you that I'm just me.  A 73 year old female who is currently feeling older than dirt.

I miss Jeanne, too, dear Cherie. But I've moved on. Life gets better. One must show a little bit of patience. I have. Love has been my salvation. Really. Hope this trend continues. Right up to the end. Wish you felt better than dirt. You deserve a bed of soft and fragrant rose petals. --Jim

True you never know what you will find here in Musings. I will add (not so much) to the 80-something replies. Not feeling witty and feisty today.

No, Bob, I'm talking about new topics, not new entries to old threads. This thread has been resurrected a few times now, but look at the "Musings" main page and you will see new topic after new topic all posted on the same day, usually about an hour apart. There are dozens of them.

Something is off that is for certain. I reported it once.

I know that one poster has deleted all of their posts but I don't think that has caused this.

Let's all report and see f we can not get it straightened out.

Kellly,

I'm sure that Jim can defend himself, but nearly all of 25 or so threads in the 24 hours that you were referring to, were generated by posts from a member that was trolling Jim.

I don't know about the trolling, unless someone removed them all, there were several additional newer posts added by Jim to his own topics. I don't see posts by other people, just his replying to his own posts, which is nothing unusual. Am I missing something?

I think it started when it was posted that Jim had made musings an "unsafe" place for some. Then there was a bit of a bruhaha here and on another board. The contributing posts were removed and people said they were leaving the boards.

and back to the baked goods....

Someone brought me chocolate frosted bundt "cakes" from Trader Joes this morning. I will post my "critique"

For those following the big game hunt there is only one rat this morning. I have been feeling  like Leiningen with his ants.

Rats? I thought Chicago only had Cubby bears. I shudder. If so much as a mouse shows up here. I abhor rats.  I have a German acquaintance who keeps a menagerie of pet rats. I avoid visiting her. My granddaughter has a pet tarantula. Doesn’t bother me. I can handle it. Cat Marcello caught his first mouse last summer. Outdoors, fortunately. He carried it around. Live. By the tail.  So far, he’s no killer. Just as well. I like living with a pacifist. Marcello goes outdoors. Only when supervised. He’s prohibited from accosting chipmunks and birds. His eyes lit up and bulged. When five deer recently wandered into the snow-covered yard. As for big Chicago rats, I suspect Marcello would keep a safe distance. He’s too smart and wary. To battle a feisty rat.  Much less carry it around. Live. By the tail. Anyway, I have no desire to meet up with a rat. In Chicago, or any place. I’ll settle for watching the Cubs and the Bears. With Marcello on my lap.  -Jim

I grew up in the Chicago area but now live in OK. These are my first rats. Wish they had stayed outside. I really did not like them in my bedroom
I named them all Charlie and wished them good morning and told them that they made an unfortunate choice to come inside. This weekend trapper John is going to plug up the entry points he has found.

I would not sleep well, jfkoc. If I knew there were rats in the bedroom. My daughter. In Arizona. Occasionally has to trap desert rats. They’re big. I don’t like their looks. Meanwhile, I’d prefer Chicago. To Oklahoma. Though the Cubs are in Arizona. For spring training. Haven’t taken spring training with the Cubs. For four or five years.  Should get back into the routine again. Meanwhile, isn’t Oklahoma becoming more prone to earthquakes? Well, I’d rather have earthquakes than rats. Some consolation. Makes Minnesota seem like paradise. Not a bad place. Even in winter. But I have the option. Of escaping to Sardinia. Life is good. Really, I have no reason to complain. I have wonderful choices.  When it comes to happiness.  --Jim

Yes, the earthquakes are a problem. They shift your house so that there are cracks everywhere. Just something you can't fix because they keep coming.
