I was wondering if anyone has someone in this clinical trial. My husband is in the phase II of this trial.

Dear SusieQ,
I have not heard of this clinical trial. Does it have any other names?
Do you know what type of drug they are using?
Can you tell us more about the Clinical trial?
Peace and hope,
Lisa

Lisa,
It's called ACC-001-ALZ-2001. It's a combination of drugs ACC-001 and QS-21. I think there are only over 100 people that will be enrolled in it and it's phase 2. As JAB explained it, it's different in that they are hoping your body will produce antiiodies to get rid of the plaques in the brain. The doctor that signed us up was very excited about it and said it was safer that the bapineuzumab which I originally tried to get my husband in in another place but he had the gene and they were filled up in that category. This one is given in the arm. There will be 6 shots given over 2 years. So far my husband has had 2 shots with no side effects and I haven't seen any difference in him. That's why I wondered if anyone else is involved in this trial.

Yes, that's the one. I was wondering if anyone else was enrolled in it and if so, any results?
