My daughter got engaged yesterday. We are so happy for her. Her ring is beautiful. I wanted to call mom and share the news with her as soon as I found out. This was just one of those times I had to stop and think and tell her in my heart. They are thinking of getting married at the mission ranch in Carmel. There goes the money that mom left me and my new kitchen. Lol.

Oh, how exciting!! A wedding to plan and look forward to!!! Congratulations to you and to them!! When is the big day?

And I know what you mean...if one of my daughters gave me the same news the first thing I would think is "I have to call Mom." and then I would have to stop myself and remember, I can't do that anymore. It's so sad. But you know she will be with you in spirit and in your heart. I know my Mom wouldn't miss my daughters' weddings for the world!! She'll be with us!! I KNOW it!!

Rosemarie, I'm so happy for you and your daughter.  I know what it's like to think "Let me call..." and then the realization comes.

Of course we know your mom will be there at the wedding!  And such an occasion does give us something to look forward to, so that's a help.
