Something to be thankful for already

While we were having morning coffee, I started singing Walking in a winter wonderland. Then I sang "Later on we'll perspire as we sit by the fire". She said "WHAT DID YOU SAY". Yes, she knew the words to it. That made my day already.

Be thankful for the small things - they mean the most.  Happy Thanksgiving to you and your wife, Ed.

That was no small thing for her to process the different words, "perspire" versus "conspire."  Such amazing things happen abruptly and are sometimes sweetly startling.  Lovely and yes; another item to put in the counting of things to be thankful for.

A child asked about the word Jehovah,

That's what some people call God, she was told.

'Oh yes, just like we call him Hallowed.'

[yes it was me!]

As my five year old brother said to our mother re the wooden benches one sits on in church; "Mom, do they call these pews because we sit on them?"   Of course loud enough to be heard by others in the congregation with laughter ensuing.

Love, love, love children to infinity and beyond.   Sure do miss having little ones to have conversations and playing with.

My mother who had FTD was not communicating much at one point.   One day, my brother and I as well as our step-brother and his wife were visiting.   Someone said something very funny and we all started laughing.  My mother chose this time to connect; opened her eyes and said, "For crying out loud, don't have an organism!"  Eyes shut again.  Of course she meant,  "orgasm" which sent us sputtering outside so no laughter would break out in her presence.
