sf, it's nice to know I don't have to worry about you spending any more nights sleeping on the floor...
I'm so glad it worked out for you!

I asked a question a few months ago about sleeping next to someone with stage 6 incontinence, and several people suggested a twin bed or hospital bed set right next to my partner's hospital bed. It would take major rearrangement of our living space to make room for this, but I think it will be a good solution later on.
Any chance you can put another bed right next to his?

So many of the decision we make on this journey are difficult and there is never a real feeling that the result was good or bad. In this one instance I'm so happy to have made the right decision. I was worried his acceptance and my own separation from him. After 35 years of him sleeping on the other side of our bed snoring softly this was another separation that was hard to accept. Since his new bed is in place he is clearly happier I believe from getting a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed, rather than our usual slide to the floor and night there. If anyone else is facing this dilemma, based on this experience, I'd say don't worry, move ahead.

I went to Sears and bought a serta mattress cover. Hospital mattresses are stiff and this make is feel better to my husband. This way I didn't have to go buy a mattress.
