It would take major rearrangement of our living space to make room for this, but I think it will be a good solution later on.
Any chance you can put another bed right next to his?

I was worried his acceptance and my own separation from him. After 35 years of him sleeping on the other side of our bed snoring softly this was another separation that was hard to accept. Since his new bed is in place he is clearly happier I believe from getting a good nights sleep on a comfortable bed, rather than our usual slide to the floor and night there. If anyone else is facing this dilemma, based on this experience, I'd say don't worry, move ahead.
