I recently found out that there is a category for 'Catastrophically Disabled Veterans' that places them into Category 4 for treatment priority.  CDV's have a "severely disabling injury, disorder or disease that permanently compromises their ability to carry out the activities of daily living.'

Category 4 placement for CDV occurs regardless of financial need, as compared to several other Categories.  It allows payment for adult day care, homemaker/home health aid, skilled home care as well as institutional care.

Thank you for sharing that info, Jamie. I've never heard of "catastrophically disabled veterans" before and will file the info away, in case I need it in the future for my husband...
