We are going to try our support group today on Zoom.  Given some of our members this should be interesting.  Someone asked how we could have support group without my cookies, so I emailed  everyone a cookie

I read on a computer web sight that are some security flaws that Zoom is working on.

Correct although our support group is about as "information tight" as a wicker basket.

Zoom is great. Do you have a real account with them or just the free version?

Crushed, LOVE the digital cookie! Zoom has been a life saver for me to get to “be” with my supportive friends!

Our support group will meet this week via Zoom also.  We’ve also stepped up our meeting frequency from monthly to every two weeks to reflect the greater challenges we all face.

It’s tough living in the time of COVID-19.  But how much tougher would it have been 20 years ago, without the technology available to us today.

It’s an IRL group.

I am not part of your existing group, but I'm really interested in joining a Zoom support group. Do you know if there's one available for new people?

Thank you

I am not in Maryland, Michael.

There are numerous sponsors/facilitators of support groups.  Your local chapter of your Alzheimer’s Association will have some information about support groups near you.  Some churches and some social welfare organizations and state health departments may be other resources that sponsor or can put you in touch with support groups.

Is it possible to join your Zoom group?  I’m in Michigan with DH who has Alz.  Thanks for any info you can give me!

I think your best option is to contact the Michigan Alz Assn chapter to get looped into local support groups.  That’s because a significant part of the benefit of a local support group is to share information about resources of various kinds in your area—agencies, day care facilities, regional or county programs, and so on.
