The diagnosis of ovarian cancer was only a little over a week before, and she'd only been on hospice care here at home for a week. It was all much faster than -- well, oh my, it was very fast. Thanks to hospice nurses and the hospice aide, and to our priest, my daughter, and other close family members and friends -- my beloved's death was as good as it could be. It was peaceful, at home, and well celebrated. We will have a memorial service at our church, with a music/storytelling/reception afterward, on Jan. 16.

More later perhaps. Mainly I'm just ready for my friends here to know.

My dear Cathy

I am so terribly terribly sorry for your loss. You fought so hard to make your beloved partner's life a good one and succeeded so well. I hope in time you will be comforted as you realize NOONE could have done more.

I am glad the last hours were as good as possible and that you have support at this terrible time.

You remain in my prayers

Hugs and love

Nicole

Cathy, hopefully you can feel the caring and support being sent. What a blow straight to the heart. A great number of people mourn your loss, even though we know your partner graciously breathed her first breath of Heaven. Be kind to yourself. And know that we are here for you.

I think this is the first time I am actually speechless, I just don't even know what to write.  I am truly shocked.  I am SO SORRY to hear of this news.

My condolences.  But more than that, I am concerned for you. I am very glad you had your daughter and other family and friends there with you.  I hope they stay with you for quite some time now.  I also hope you find some peace with all of this.

Please know that we are all here feeling for you.  I actually feel as if you and your partner are and were known by me.
