I admire all caregivers because this is such a difficult disease for our LOs as well as for us. But I have a special affection for those of you who overcome so much to come be a part of this community. I know some of the things you read must be frightening to you, and yet you persevere.
We not only learn from you about dementia, but we also learn about courage. Thank you each and every one for what you contribute to us.

Thank you for visiting, Cheryle. We patients are just normal people too who are trying to learn and adjust to what has been handed to us.
I truly believe the nature of dementia care will evolve as more patients get diagnosed and stabilized while still able to communicate. We may have to learn new ways of communicating with our families and friends, but that's a challenge I'm willing to accept.
Instead of caregiver and patient, we will become care partners, as you said in your topic title. I'm hoping for more give and take between partners.
