I wish each of the patients suffering from Dementia a Happy New Year. I pray you each have the most enjoyable year possible. I too have Alzheimer’s disease as well as FTD (frontal temporal dementia). I am 63 and was diagnosed with EOAD (Early Onset Alzheimer’s Disease), in April 2005. I met with seven seperate specialist to confirm my diagnosis.  At the time, I was 49 years old.  I have lived with the disease for over 13 years and have continued to see my initial psychiatrist / neurologist.

I believe those of us living  with Alzheimer’s for ten years or more and are still active, have a responsibility to provide hope for our  fellow patients .  Every year I can do less, however with Gods grace, I work twice as hard on the things I can do.

Welcome Bill, it's nice to meet you.  I have been on this board for about ten years.  At first, I thought I had Alzheimer's Disease but an amyviid PET scan showed no amyloid and thus ruled out AD. I have multiple medical issues which may account for my cognitive impairments.  Like you, I have noticed progression of memory loss.  Nevertheless, I will continue on my treatment regimen and hope to stay as healthy as I can for as long as I can.

I hope you continue to read and to post with us.  Happy New Year!

Iris L.

Hello BI Bridgwater,

I was reading online about Alzheimer and I ran across your name a few times.  Also, I saw pictures of you and your wife.  I was your secretary at AT&T (financial department) in Colorado during the early 1980's.  You were the best boss during my lifetime!  I linked on to this site to say hello.  My prayers are with you and I hope you have a blessed 2019!

God Bless,

Renee

Hi Bill,

I was pleased to read about your history and advice. I'm a newbie and still trying to get my arms wrapped around it. It's nice to hear people like yourself who have had ALZ/dementia for quite some time.

Happy New Year to you too!

Bob
