Anyone ever experience Hospitals do not feed advanced dementia patients?

I recently found out that Stonybrook University Hospital did not want to feed my mom but wanted to keep her hospitalized for a week claiming they were waiting for her UTI test results?

UTI test results have come back the same day for my father if taken early.  Do they have any other concerns that they've shared with you?

Blossom Pearl, yes, I have seen this happen. In fact, one lady was not eating, and they told her son she needed a feeding tube.  Wonder if she would have eaten if he came and fed her.  I did feed my mother when she was in the hospital, or her paid caregiver fed her.

Feeding people takes a long time which the hospital aids and nurses do not have.  I observed dementia patients fed in nursing homes.  They roll them in on their wheelchairs and place them on one side of a table.  The aid sits on the other side and feeds them all.

With today's staff shortages I'm sure many hospitals are like the one you mention.

I prayed for you and your mother.
