Caregivers Who Have Lost Someone
Husband passed Monday morn, funeral was Thursday
And I am lost, feel like I'm in a daze. I cared for him at home throughout his illness.I held his hand overnight Sunday and watched him take his last breath. I will miss him terribly. But glad his journey is over, Alz is a cruel disease.
I hope your husband had a wonderful life. He is lucky to have had you in his life caring for him. Caring for someone with AD is not easy and the fact that you were there when he took his last breath, although a very hard thing to experience, is one memory that will bind you together for the rest of your lives.
I wish you peace for your days ahead. AD is a horrible disease that leaves us numb for a while.
Take care of yourself.
Hello my friends,
Today is one week since the funeral.
Feeling, numb, lost, it is a very lonley feeling.
I am so glad we had this website (the old one) thru part of his journey, it educated me and I was so grateful for that.
I keep coming back to read all the posts, no one really understands what we as caregivers went through, with our love, caring, patience, exhaustion, we just did it, and that is the only way I wanted it.
Ed was one of the harder ones to care for but I loved taking care of him and I miss him terribly.
"God saw you were getting tired
And your cure was not meant to be
So he put his arms around you
And whispered "Come to me"
With tearful eyes we watched you
And saw you pass away,
And though we love you dearly,
we could not make you stay.
A golden heart stopped beating,
hard working hands were put to rest.
God broke our hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.
I love you Ed and I will always, always be your wife.
I'm so sorry for your loss. May you find peace as you grieve for your beloved Ed.
I know exactly how you feel. It has been only a month for me.
I am finding that the grieving process is soooooooo veryyyyyyyyyy hard right now because we are both physically and mentally exhausted.
I am now finding some peace for myself knowing that Rusty is no longer tied to the ugly disease.
I will add you to my prayers for self healing.
Come on over and talk in our chat room when you fell the need. It is very soothing to talk to people who are going through the same things that we are.

I'm so sorry for your loss of your Dear Rusty.
It is so early for both of us, I guess it just will take time to feel better.
At least they are not suffering any longer. And there was no cure.
Prayers and hugs for you. (((hugs)))
