When I was in my doctor's office, I found a brochure for a great pill organizer!

It's called the Med Center System.

Note: I don't benefit in any way from your interest in this product...except the good feeling I have if it helps you on scheduled dosing and peace of mind.

Administration has given me permission to post the link to this site.  You need to copy and paste into your browser.

www.MedCenterSystems.com

This Med Center arranges your pills for up to 4 times a day for 31 days.  You can even order the talking alarm clock which reminds you when to take your med.  You program it for your schedule.

You will need to have someone assist or set this up for you.  I love the talking alarm because it even reminds me what day of the week and month it is in each announcement!

It's very memory friendly.  If you take pills more than 4 times daily, you can find some way to utilize this system and adapt.

It's so helpful for me and takes the worry away from..."did I take my pills?"  If they are not in their compartment, I know I took them.

When I travel, I just take the daily containers out of the organizer for that period of time and pack them.

Be sure to always have a list of the meds you take.  I include a description of each pill.  When I fly, I take my empty, or partially filled, Rx bottles in my carry on  bag .  Look at the site and see what you think.

Geegee, that system looks helpful.  I use a similar system that does not speak.

And if anyone sees one for 5 times a day with a fairly large pocket for each. One of my pills is very moisture sensitive.

I have never had a talking pill reminder that lasted more the 6 months. The Alarm goes bad. I am able to use a manual one now. I write on my Med Bottles with a felt pen a code for when I take them - B for Breakfast, L Lunch, D Dinner, and Bed for taken at bedtime. Then my caregive fills my reminder. I have a 7 day manual reminder. my Caregive reminds me to takes my meds if she is here.It is always in the same place, next to my bed. I take 18 diferent RX, 3 times a day. 22 pills daily. Yes my doctor is allways checking for interactions, and I all ways ask.

Mimi,  when I have a 5th time of day, I keep that bottle next to the unit I set out

With the days' pills.  I also keep my foil wrapped pills in their original sleeve

Until time to take them.  (example:  my probiotic).  That works for me.

If you go to the site, they have a great video you can watch.  Make sure you DO

NOT select the "skip this introduction"...because that is the video.   It shows

The med system is organized.  I forgot to add that originally.

....but it's for those who have said they have gotten confused or forgot to take

Their meds.

Geegee, I have one medication that I take with dinner.  For a time in the late fall and early winter, I was so stressed that I was not eating dinner--I was snacking through the evening.  Thus the fact that I had a medication to take with dinner completely slipped my mind.  Now that I am back on a regular schedule of meal-taking, I don't seem to have a problem in remembering my dinnertime pill.

Moisture sensitive medicines should be keep in their own containers. Talking and non-talking medicine reminders, don't have as good as serial as a medicine bottle. The only moisture sensitive bill that I take is my Nitro tablet, but it's very small. I also saw a large manual five times a day pill reminder at CvS. Everyone, with any disability, it should go through a free equipment evaluation. They make recommendations, based on your disability. Your local Alzheimer's Association Chapter can make the referral.
