Relationship between Brain Surgery and Dementia
Does anyone know of any studies concerning a relationship between brain surgery and dementia?
We do know that trauma to the brain like concussions have a relationship. And brain surgery certainly is a major trauma? I wonder if anyone ever did a study of those with various types of brain surgery and later incidence of dementia?

Brain surgery? Seriously? What for if I may ask? Were you already diagnosed?
I'm concerned about even having anesthesia again because of potential compromises in my cognition.
Good for you, Myriam! I never hear it called the Suicide Disease, but I can believe it. I'm glad your surgery was successful.
Since your brain was exposed, that would have been the perfect time for a brain biopsy to definitely learn what type of dementia you have. I don't remember you mentioning a brain biopsy, so I take it one was not done?
