I've posted in other forums and I'm not totally certain, but I think my mom has Alzheimers. We've got a strong family history and I've watched mom for symptoms for about a year, and her friends agree that there are things that concern them. I wrote my MD and then that MD wrote my mom's MD basically forced my mom to get testing. She has not had testing yet, but is terrified. As her daughter I was beginning her for about 6 months to get tested, and she refused. She's pretty angry with me and I just hope I did the right thing. As folks with the diagnosis what are your thoughts?

Hi Radar, I answered more fully on your other post.

You can Validate your mom's anger at you. "Mom, I know you're angry with me because I want you to be tested."  But please, as I wrote elsewhere, do get her to the best place available to you.

Do not ask, take her there. Do discuss some ruses to use when you bring her. have a short list of symptoms you have noted to had to the receptionist. Do ave another copy to hand to the doctor if the first doesn't make it.

At the top in large print:

DO NOT DISCUSS THIS IN FRONT OF MY MOTHER

Good luck. Do keep in touch.
