83yr old mother diagnosed with Alzheimers almost 2 yrs ago and is in a Nursing home in the United Kingdom. She has always used a zimmer frame to assist in mobility. Over the last 6 months her cognitive abilities are diminishing and in the last few weeks her mobility has ceased. It is difficult to keep her interested in activities given that she's restricted to sitting in a chair. We've tried folding towels etc but I wondered does anyone have any other suggestions.

Would she be able to bat a balloon back and forth with someone? My dad doesn't do much but he does enjoy this activity and it helps them focus a little bit also.

My aunt enjoyed coloring book for adults.

Some of her favorites were the historical fashion books from Dover Press.

When my father became bed bound, I brought a lava lamp from my home.  You can buy them in many colors.  The movement is fascinating to watch.  We all enjoyed watching it.

Thank you for suggestion. She was a sportslady in her day so will look out for lightweight bat & ball and see how she reacts.

Thank you for your suggestion. Will seek out adult jigsaws and see if it generates some interest for her.

Thank you for your suggestion. Would never have thought of a lava lamp. Will have to check with Nursing home to see if it's ok to install one in her bedroom but it would be a great idea.
