My mother recently passed.  She had a joint account for over five years with my wife since I could no longer due any finance.  At the time of death, she had about $7,000 dollars left in that account. All her bills were being played for by the government because she ran out of money about two years ago. At one point and time she had as much a $350,000.00 but it all went to pay for her AL. My wife paid for many things out of our money for her over the years.

She also had a will that said her money would give $10,000 to her 3 granddaughters first and the rest to be left to me. Since she does not have the money that she once had what happens in this case?  Am I right to think that since the joint account was in my wife’s name the money is really hers at this point and time. We are under PA Laws.  My wife was managing everything for her all these years but I was the executor of her will.   Thanks

Michael, I'm not sure Crushed reads this board. His posts are always on the Spouse board.
