UsAgainstAlzheimer’s
has recently launched BrainGuide, a first-of-its-kind platform that empowers
people with knowledge and resources to take the best next steps in managing
their own or a loved one’s brain health.
With
more than 60 percent of Alzheimer’s cases in people over 65 years old going
unrecognized, there is an immense need, now more than ever, for brain health
awareness and earlier detection of mild cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s
disease.
BrainGuide
can help whether you’re interested in protecting your brain
health, if you’ve been diagnosed with mild cognitive
impairment (MCI) or Alzheimer’s, or if
you’re concerned about a family member.
BrainGuide begins with an automated,
confidential self-administered memory questionnaire, that can be
taken on behalf of yourself or someone you care about. The questionnaire
was based on validated questionnaires that have been adapted for the phone and
the web.
Once
an individual completes the questionnaire, BrainGuide offers tailored resources
based on the answers provided to help you find the best next steps in your or a
loved one’s brain health journey. BrainGuide does not provide a diagnosis.
UsAgainstAlzheimer’s worked
in close collaboration with medical, technology, and industry experts to
innovate and carefully create BrainGuide. BrainGuide was developed
with in-kind and financial support from Biogen. The platform runs on Amazon Web
Services (AWS), using state-of-the-art technologies to power the memory
questionnaire capability and make it available to anyone with a telephone or
Internet access.
The
platform builds on UsAgainstAlzheimer’s Be Brain Powerful Campaign, which is a
proud partner to The Women’s Alzheimer’s Movement, and aims to empower
communities to take steps to maintain their brain health.
BrainGuide
is free, easy to access and available in both English and Spanish.
I
encourage you to take the first step in acting on your brain health today by
