The Alzheimer's Association offers individuals living in the early stage of Alzheimer’s or other dementia a unique opportunity to elevate their voice on a national platform by serving on the Alzheimer’s Association’s National Early-Stage Advisory Group.

Advisors share their personal perspective on living with the disease to help the Alzheimer's Association raise concern and awareness of the disease, advocate with elected officials on key legislative priorities, and advise on the development of programs and support services for people living in the early stage of Alzheimer’s’ or related dementia. Our advisors act as national spokespersons for the Association in a variety of different engagements that can include media interviews, panel participation, conference speakers, and workgroups.

To be considered for the National Early-Stage Advisory Group, all nominees must meet the following criteria:

  • Willing and able to speak publicly about the diagnosis and experience living with Alzheimer's, MCI or related dementia.
  • Willing and able to participate in monthly video conference calls and use e-mail.
  • Willing and able to travel on behalf of Association business.
  • Provide a physician statement confirming a diagnosis of early stage Alzheimer's disease, a related dementia, or Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI).

The appointment is for one year (July - June) and nominations are currently open for the upcoming term until April 15th, 2022. Individuals can complete an online self-nomination form by clicking this link.
